AJ Belknap
Besides being a great singer, AJ
(aka Bettylou Branch)
is an amazing illustrator.
Check out some of her wonderful
design work for kids at her website,
Sugar Pixie Brand!

An interesting aside about how AJ's design helped us leave New York City:
AJ moved to NYC in her teens, and she never planned on leaving. In fact, she'd never even learned to drive. Well, not long after I proposed, I asked AJ to move to Austin with me. She was reluctant, but finally she agreed to check out the little town in Texas! On her very first day in Austin, we wandered into a bookstore downtown, and on a rack in the stationery section hung some gift-wrapping paper that she'd designed for a French paper company! She thought, Maybe this town isn't so backwards after all! Now we're in Austin renovating a lovely 1955 ranchhouse, and she drives a sexy little Scion xB with rims!

Japanese Promo
If you can read Japanese,
then you'll see that this
magazine article is about AJ's
(& design partner Katie's)
Pixie Pops characters.

They'll be featured in a gallery
in Tokyo in December!
The Pixie Pops have been
featured in two books
&
on cards & gift-wrap paper
& other items too!
More Duets
AJ and I are working on some new Christmas tunes
for the 2008 Christmas record, as well as some
old-fashioned Dolly-and-Porter-style duets
for a future Country Duets release.

We'll keep you posted on the progress!
