Hog Branch is the production and publishing company of musician, producer, writer, and editor, Rick Watson.
Music and publishing pursuits go hand-in-hand in Austin, Texas, where Rick moved from NYC four years ago, and Hog Branch Productions is prospering on both fronts: creating educational programs for struggling readers and producing some of the best new music on the Texas Country scene.
On the Educational Publishing front, Rick has helped create Reading Intervention series and software for Scholastic, Harcourt, and McGraw-Hill, among others.
On the Music Production front, Rick, a former fixture in NYC's downtown music and theater scenes, has recently worked with numerous Texas artists, including Dean Seltzer & the Redneck Mothers and Keith Davis. Plans are in development for a new musical theater project in Austin in 2009, as well.
Rick worked extensively with Jared Lightfoot on the Wicked Brew Band's new album Down South, which was released by Smith Entertainment in April 2008. Their debut single, I'm Alright, reached Number 16 on the Texas Regional Radio Chart, and the Top 25 on the Texas Music and Roots Country charts! Wicked Brew is known for their wild live shows, so be sure to catch them when they visit your town!
