The Picnic Band reunited! Thanks to the Valdmanis clan for getting the group together to hang out, catch up, and then play a really fun show up in Portland, Maine, during the Independence Day holiday!

The lovely AJ and I spent this past 4th of July at Higgins Beach for a reunion with great friends from one of my favorite groups, Picnic Band. We had a blast in this great college/resort town -- eating lobster & scallops & haddock & clam chowder, visiting with many old friends and their new babies, and of course, playing some great music together!





This version of the Picnic Band featured: Richard Valdmanis on guitar, banjo & lead vocals;  Warren Valdmanis on mandolin, harmonica & vocals; Rubin Nizri on drums & vocals (check out his site -- Rubin's also a great solo artist!), and yours truly Rick Watson on electric bass.
